<h3>Purpose</h3>
<p>We are seeking an accomplished and highly effective Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and closure of large, complex capital projects valued at over 1 billion dollars across our operations. Based in our Markham/Oakville office, this leadership role is accountable for the overall project success, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and meets all technical, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge, and a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors in the Mining, Minerals, and Metals sector.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Leadership and Accountability
</li><li>Single Point of Accountability: Hold ultimate responsibility for the successful completion and handover of assigned projects, from initiation through closeout.
</li><li>Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate large, integrated project teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Construction Management, and Quality Assurance personnel.
</li><li>Stakeholder Management: Manage all communication and relationships with internal stakeholders (Executive Leadership, Operations) and external parties (Contractors, Vendors, Regulatory Agencies).
</li><li>Scope Definition & Management: Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring effective control of scope changes via the formal Change Management process.
</li><li>Cost and Schedule Management: Establish the project baseline budget and integrated master schedule (working closely with Project Controls). Monitor performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
</li><li>Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, analyse, and manage project risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle to minimise negative impacts and maximise value.
</li><li>HSE & Quality: Ensure that all project activities strictly adhere to corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and that quality standards are met according to specifications.
</li><li>Contract Strategy: Define the project contracting strategy and manage contract execution (e.g., EPC, EPCM, Lump Sum, Unit Rate).
</li><li>Contractor Oversight: Manage and administer contracts with major contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and schedules.
</li><li>Financial Reporting: Oversee the financial performance of the project, including cash flow, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting on Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
</li></ul>
<h3>Qualifications & Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Senior‑level progressive experience in managing capital projects, with at least 15 years in a Senior Project Manager role.
</li><li>Direct, verifiable experience managing projects within the Mining, Metals, and Heavy Industrial Construction sector is mandatory.
</li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
</li><li>Proven expertise in project delivery methods, contract management, and strong working knowledge of Project Controls (scheduling, cost estimating, risk management).
</li><li>Exceptional leadership, negotiation, problem‑solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
</li></ul>
<h3>Desired Assets</h3>
<ul>
<li>Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
</li><li>Experience with large, multi‑site projects or international project management.
</li><li>Advanced proficiency with integrated project management systems (e.g., SAP, EcoSys, Primavera P6).
