<h2>Senior Systems Engineer – Avionics</h2> <p>Location: Lindsay, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)<br> Employment Type: Full-time<br> Salary Range: CAD 165,000 – 210,000 gross/year</p> <h3>About the Role</h3> <p>A senior-level Systems Engineer – Avionics is sought to lead the definition, integration, and certification of advanced avionics architectures for hybrid eVTOL aircraft.</p> <p>This role carries end-to-end responsibility for the development of mission-critical avionics systems, including navigation, communications, flight displays, sensors, and vehicle management systems. Working across hardware, software, and systems domains, you will deliver safe, reliable, and certifiable avionics solutions within a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment.</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li> <p>Lead the architecture, specification, and system integration of avionics systems, including flight control computers, communication and navigation equipment, displays, sensors, and data buses</p> </li> <li> <p>Define avionics system requirements and interface control documents aligned with vehicle-level functions and safety objectives</p> </li> <li> <p>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support flight deck layout, human-machine interface (HMI), and pilot operational needs</p> </li> <li> <p>Oversee integration of avionics hardware and software, ensuring redundancy, fault tolerance, and robust system behaviour</p> </li> <li> <p>Manage supplier selection, technical oversight, and compliance with DO-254, DO-178C, and applicable aerospace standards</p> </li> <li> <p>Support functional safety activities, including FHA, FMEA, and FTA at system and subsystem levels</p> </li> <li> <p>Lead avionics integration activities in laboratory, ground test, and flight test environments, troubleshooting and resolving system-level issues</p> </li> <li> <p>Contribute to certification planning and regulatory compliance with FAA, EASA, and/or TCCA, including documentation and audits</p> </li> <li> <p>Act as a technical integrator between engineering teams and project management</p> </li> <li> <p>Apply and enforce engineering standards, ensuring rigor, quality, schedule adherence, and budget alignment</p> </li> <li> <p>Challenge existing approaches and introduce improvements to engineering quality, productivity, and delivery</p> </li> <li> <p>Stay current with advancements in avionics systems, certification practices, and aerospace technologies</p> </li> <li> <p>Drive continuous improvement of processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and system reliability</p> </li> </ul> <h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li> <p>7+ years of experience in avionics or systems engineering within aerospace or automotive environments</p> </li> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience across multiple phases of the product lifecycle (concept, development, integration, verification, certification)</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong background in avionics architectures, system integration, and safety-critical systems</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands-on experience with systems engineering practices is highly desirable</p> </li> <li> <p>Familiarity with eVTOL certification frameworks (FAA, EASA, TCCA)</p> </li> <li> <p>Proven ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong communication and stakeholder management skills</p> </li> </ul> <h3>What is Offered</h3><ul><li> <p>Competitive senior-level compensation</p> </li> <li> <p>No fixed holiday cap</p> </li> <li> <p>Competitive group benefits plan</p> </li> <li> <p>Company stock purchase program</p> </li> <li> <p>Hybrid working options</p> </li> <li> <p>Opportunity to work on next-generation aerospace and eVTOL platforms</p> </li> </ul>Create Your Resume First
