Job Responsibilities:
The Simeon Park Pool Team Lead, a part of Magna International Inc., is responsible for lifeguarding and instructing and supervising recreational swimming. In addition, they are also responsible for Park Attendant duties, ensuring the park grounds and facilities are maintained and assisting with guest services. This position reports directly to the Operations Coordinator of Simeon Park.
Major Responsibilities
- Complete and review operational, health and safety, and maintenance checklists.
- Prepare and execute daily task plans for team meetings and provide regular updates with Team Leads and Supervisors.
- Mentor team members by providing constructive feedback as needed.
Pool Maintenance & Lifeguard Duties
- Supervise recreational swimming activities to ensure the safety of all patrons and the compliance of Simeon Park's pool rules.
- Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life curriculum (i.e. training, skills testing, lesson planning, providing feedback, awards processing, etc.).
- Perform rescues and first aid as required.
Park Maintenance
- Ensure the pool facility and indoor facilities are clean and maintained.
- Ensure lawn is maintained.
- Complete groundskeeping as scheduled, in a timely manner (trail maintenance, sports facility maintenance, garbage collection, etc.).
- Operate machinery as needed.
- Ensure outdoor equipment is cleaned, moved, and assembled as operational needs require (i.e., tents, barbecues, picnic tables, sports field equipment, etc.).
- Additional general labour with some heavy lifting as required.
Guest Services
- Provide gatehouse services.
- Provide parking services.
- Officiate recreation programs (e.g., soccer and slopitch).
- Perform additional guest services as required.
Who we are looking for
- Must be enrolled in a college or university program.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays in the summer until Labour Day.
Your preferred qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Valid G or G2 driver's license.
- Soccer referee certification (training will be provided if needed)
- National Lifeguard Certification.
- Swim Instructor Certification.
- First AID CPR-C Certification.
Work Environment
The Simeon Park Pool Team Lead role involves working primarily outdoors, in various weather conditions. This role includes walking, lifting, and completing maintenance tasks throughout the park grounds
Compensation
- This position offers an hourly wage of $22.00.
