Job Description

Overview

MetricLy is building a next-generation design-tech platform powered by AI. After two years of development, research, early MVP traction, and vendor interest, we are ready to move fast toward a unified V1 product.

We have:

AI research teams building our recommendation engines

a working consumer MVP

strong vendor and retailer demand

a growing internal team

The puzzle is built. The momentum is real.

Now we need the person who can pull it all together.

About the Role

We are searching for a technical cofounder who is energized by early-stage building. This is a hands-on role for a full-stack builder who ships quickly, simplifies aggressively, and thrives in a zero-to-one environment.

You will lead all technical direction, architecture decisions, and execution. You will work directly with the founder in Saskatoon to deliver our first unified product in a matter of months, not years.

This is not a traditional job posting. This is an ownership role with real equity and the opportunity to shape the future of a platform positioned to scale globally.

Strategic & Investor Alignment:

Represent the technical vision in key conversations with advisors, partners, and investors. You’ll help articulate our architecture, scalability plan, and long-term technical strategy alongside the CEO.

You Are

a full-stack builder who can take an idea and make it real quickly

someone who ships fast and iterates with real users

skilled in React, Node, Go, Python, or similar modern stacks

comfortable designing simple architecture that scales over time

excited about AI integration and modern developer tools

able to work in person regularly in Saskatoon

the type who sees a problem and immediately wants to prototype a solution

someone who wants ownership, autonomy, and the chance to lead

steady under pressure, resourceful, and motivated by outcomes

craving a role where your work directly moves the company forward

What You Will Do

lead the rapid build of MetricLy’s V1 SaaS platform

unify existing components (MVP, AI research outputs, vendor data, onboarding flows)

make technical decisions that prioritize speed to market

design architecture that is lightweight now and scalable later

build and ship features end-to-end

identify what we build now, what we cut, and what we build next

collaborate daily with the founder to break down ideas into shippable pieces

hire and manage a small focused engineering team as we grow

create a technical culture of speed, simplicity, ownership, and clarity

Our Current Stack

We keep our stack modern, lightweight, and fast to build:

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Vite, Shadcn/UI

Backend: Node.js with TypeScript and Express

Database + Auth: PostgreSQL and Supabase

DevOps: Docker, Railway (or similar), GitHub Actions

AI Integration: Python microservices, embeddings, vector search, and applied AI research from our Sask Polytech partners

We are open to refinement, but this is the foundation today.

What We Offer

meaningful equity as a true cofounder

competitive salary as funding milestones unlock

the chance to shape the entire technical direction of MetricLy

a founder partnership rooted in trust, creativity, and shared ambition

a company with early traction, funding, and a validated market

support from existing researchers, UI/UX, and grant-backed teams

the opportunity to build something that does not exist in the design industry

Who This Role Is Not For

people who want large teams, long timelines, or slow planning cycles

people who over-engineer instead of shipping quickly

people looking to be managed rather than lead

people who avoid ambiguity or pressure

people who want remote-only work with minimal founder interaction

To Apply or Connect

Send a message directly or email: tamara@metricly.design

NO CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT A DIRECT MESSAGE OR COVER LETTER

Include links to your GitHub, portfolio, or examples of products you have shipped.

If you know someone who fits this, please share.

How to Apply or connect guidance not included in original description.
