Technical Project Manager

Job Description

Are you a seasoned Technical Project Manager passionate about reference data mastery and driving high-impact initiatives in capital markets? We are looking for a Technical PM to lead the charge on Golden Source systems that power accurate, compliant, and efficient trading, risk, and operations.

You'll collaborate with top-tier banks, asset managers, and institutional clients to solve complex data challenges using cutting-edge tools, AI-driven insights, and innovative FinLab solutions. We're all about agility, excellence, and empowering our people to deliver transformative results.

This role is on-site 4 days a week.

What You'll Do:

  • Own end-to-end project delivery for Reference Data and Golden Source programs - from planning and requirements gathering to successful go-live and beyond.
  • Partner closely with data governance, IT, operations, and business stakeholders to define scope, align on priorities, and deliver business value.
  • Oversee critical technical workstreams: data modelling, quality, lineage, master data management, migrations, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Drive data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance while managing timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies like a pro.
  • Bridge the gap between technical teams (developers, data stewards) and senior executives with clear communication and status reporting.
  • Champion continuous improvement in processes, data governance standards, and reference data solutions - including audit and regulatory support.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in capital markets, banking, or financial institutions.
  • Deep expertise in reference data domains (3+ years hands-on in trading, risk, or back-office functions).
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets products (equities, fixed income, derivatives, forex) and key identifiers (ISIN, CUSIP, FIGI, RIC, LEI) + product taxonomy.
  • Proven track record managing projects tied to trading platforms, risk systems, or data warehouses.
  • Technical chops: Proficient in SQL and relational data modelling; comfortable with APIs, JSON/XML; experience with MDM/governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, DataHub); excellent Excel for analysis, reconciliations, and summaries.
  • Familiarity with securities data feeds (Bloomberg, LSEG/Reuters), ETL processes, and data integration.
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's or Master's).
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Agile certification (or equivalent) highly preferred.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills in fast-paced environments.

What'd be Extra Nice:

  • Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure) and related data services.
  • Exposure to regulatory standards impacting reference data.
  • Hands-on with data lineage and metadata management tools.
