This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining fleet safety and performance while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.</p><p><b>Job Summary:</b></p><p>The Trailer Air Brake Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailer air brake systems and related components. This role requires in-depth knowledge of trailer mechanics, especially air brake systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Inspect, diagnose, and repair air brake systems on trailers</li><li>Perform regular maintenance and safety checks on trailers and braking components</li><li>Replace or repair brake drums, shoes, valves, chambers, slack adjusters, and other parts</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve air system issues including leaks, malfunctions, and adjustments</li><li>Ensure repairs are completed in compliance with DOT and company safety standards</li><li>Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used</li><li>Collaborate with other mechanics and supervisors to prioritize repair schedules</li><li>Keep work area clean, organized, and safe</li></ul><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred</li><li>Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on experience working with trailer air brake systems</li><li>Strong knowledge of trailer components and braking systems</li><li>Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards</li><li>Ability to operate power tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting equipment safely</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and work in various weather conditions</li></ul><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Certification in trailer repair or heavy-duty brake systems</li><li>CDL license (not required but an asset)</li><li>Welding or fabrication experience is a plus</li></ul><p><b>Benefits:</b></p><ul><li>Competitive hourly wage</li><li>Opportunities for overtime</li><li>Career advancement</li><li>Supportive work environment</li><li>On-the-job training</li></ul><p> </p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent</p><p>Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour</p><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Day shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li><li>Weekends as needed</li></ul><p> </p><p>Work Location: In person</p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
