The company's engineers have Master's degrees or PH.D.'s in electrical engineering with a focus on power transmission systems.<br /> <br /><strong>Full Job Description</strong><br />Immediate need of power system engineer. Require a bachelor degree and in support of all aspects of transmission studies on power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and other power system analyses. Familiar with PSS/E or TARA. Preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D. or Master degree in Power Systems. Relocation will be considered.<br /> <br />Responsibilities<ul><li>Will perform power system analysis for 138 kV and above transmission system, including power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and short circuit analyses.</li><li>Will prepare steady state, short circuit and dynamic models</li><li>Will support senior engineer in preparing technical reports.</li><li>Will offer technical consultations and oversee the process of new generation</li></ul>interconnection requests throughout the planning cycle.<br />• Will conduct and review system impact studies, analyzing steady-state load flow and transient stability performance, as well as performing reactive planning, Load Interconnection studies, and mitigation planning.<br />• Will use use PSS/e and TARA to conduct voltage ride-through and critical clearing time analysis for generator interconnection studies related to upcoming renewable<br /> <br />Requirements<ul><li>Master degree in Electrical Engineering</li><li>2+ years of power systems engineering experience for Junior position</li><li>Knowledge in electric power system, synchronous generator, motor, power electronic inverters, wind turbines and solar.</li><li>Experience with transmission studies on power flow, voltage stability, and other power system analyses.</li><li>Experience within PSS/E, TARA or DSA tools.</li><li>Background in static and dynamic modelling of power systems components in PSS/E or DSA tools, including HVDC, VSC, Static Var Compensators, STATCOM and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitors.</li><li>PSS/E model development and IPLAN and/or Python programming is an asset</li><li>Knowledge of reliability and interconnection of the transmission system.</li><li>Basic knowledge of substation layout and protection and control</li><li>Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills</li><li>Job Type: Full-time, must be able to work in Canada with sponsorship</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
