E D Industrial has been operating since 2003. We are a multi-skilled company located in the Greater Toronto Area. The services we offer include millwrighting, manufacturing equipment installations and refurbishing existing production equipment, steel fabrication, pipe fitting, concrete work forming and demolition, maintenance and repair, CAD design and layout, plant relocation, civil construction, and project evaluation. We provide our customers with professional tradespeople who take pride in the quality of every job they do.

Our business relationships are built on a one-on-one approach that has resulted in years of continued personal service to our clients. We have worked in a variety of industries including building products, food and beverage, metal refineries, recycling, aggregates, concrete, and bulk material handling.

All of our employees are dedicated tradespeople that include millwrights, CWB & TSSA certified welders, machinists, pipefitters, CAD designers, and engineers. Safety is the number one priority for our company and we belong to the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA). All our tradespeople are fully certified in areas such as WHIMS, forklifts, man lifts, aerials, hot work practices, lockout procedures, etc.

Summary Description:

E D Industrial is looking for Welder/Fitter on a short-term (3-6 month) contract basis. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position, or successfully completing a credited apprenticeship program. E D Industrial offers a competitive salary, paid vacation and holidays, provides specialty tools and safety equipment.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Read and follow detailed welding procedures
  • Able to read and accurately interpret prints and shop drawings
  • Able to cut, fit and weld a variety of metals according to drawings and specifications
  • Must be adaptable and resourceful and show initiative, dependability, and innovation
  • Able to work in a positive team environment, where every member of the team acts and feels part of a cohesive unit
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum direction
  • Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
  • Perform basic housekeeping
  • Must be willing to work shifts and perform other duties/tasks that are of a reasonable request by Management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience
  • CWB certification will be considered an asset
  • Experienced in Pipe Fitting and/or Pipe Welding. Must meet TSSA standards
  • Strong background related to fitting/welding skills on large pipe fabrications requiring tight tolerances
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility in working off-hours
  • Strong safety-related skills and knowledge
  • Good communicator in the English language, both written and oral

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Field environment (plant and shops)
  • May be exposed to noise, heat, cold conditions
  • May be required to lift 50-75 lbs. (with or without assistance)
  • May be required to climb 4-12 ft. ladder and work at heights

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
