YW Calgary occasionally is able to accommodate enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Childcare Practicum Students. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a nurturing environment, where you will work alongside experienced educators to support the growth and development of young children. You will engage in various activities that promote learning through play, foster social skills, and create a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all children. Ideal candidates are passionate about early childhood education, possess strong communication skills, and are eager to learn and contribute to our vibrant community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all children
• Collaborate with experienced educators to create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff either written or verbally
• Meet expectations particular to course requirements

• Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of children
• Maintain a positive mindset and be open to receiving feedback from team members and other mentors
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Flexibility and reliability in attending scheduled shifts

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• A clear Police Information Check including the Vulnerable Sector search is required upon commencement
• Current enrollment in an Early Childhood Education Program (Level 1, 2 or 3)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Basic First Aid and CPR Certification
• Understanding of Child Development
• Communication skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, families and staff
• Flexibility and adaptability. Ability to adapt to various situations and respond to diverse needs of children in a childcare setting
