Job Description
Arborist / Tree Spraying Specialist – British Columbia
Location: Employment Type: Seasonal Compensation: Competitive wages based on experience, certifications, and licensing
Primary Responsibilities
Perform tree and shrub spraying, trunk injections, soil drenches, and other PHC treatments
Diagnose insect, disease, and nutrient issues using arborist‑level knowledge
Develop treatment plans based on species, site conditions, and client goals
Safely mix, handle, and apply pesticides in compliance with BC Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy regulations
Maintain accurate application records as required under BC Integrated Pest Management (IPM) legislation
Operate spray rigs, injection tools, and related equipment
Communicate findings and recommendations to clients in a clear, professional manner
Monitor pest cycles and treatment effectiveness throughout the season
Qualifications
Experience in tree spraying, plant health care, or arboriculture
Strong understanding of tree biology, pests, and diseases common to BC
Ability to identify regional insects, pathogens, and nutrient deficiencies
Valid BC driver's license with a clean driving record
BC Pesticide Applicator Certificate (Landscape General or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift 50+ lbs
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe chemical handling
