BDS is a North American heavy haul and specialized transportation provider offering winch and bed trucks, picker/crane services, RGN/lowbeds, multi-axle configurations, oversized/overweight transport, pilot services, and cross-border logistics. With more than 45 years in the industry, we are expanding our commercial team and seeking a driven Business Development Representative.

Job Overview
The Business Development Representative will focus on generating new business, expanding existing customer relationships, and supporting the full sales cycle using CRM-based tracking and reporting. This is a growth-focused role that requires disciplined pipeline management and consistent customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business across energy, construction, industrial, manufacturing, modular building, and infrastructure sectors
  • Build strong client relationships through calls, meetings, site visits, and follow-up
  • Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and management to scope accurate transport solutions
  • Maintain all sales activity, leads, opportunities, and account notes in the CRM with high accuracy
  • Produce regular CRM-driven reports for leadership, including pipeline status, activity summaries, and forecast updates
  • Track customer trends, market opportunities, and competitor activity within the CRM
  • Support marketing initiatives, presentations, and onboarding of new customers
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to cultivate new leads

Qualifications

  • 25 years of business development or sales experience (transportation, heavy haul, logistics, or industrial service sectors preferred)
  • Strong understanding of CRM platforms and disciplined pipeline management
  • Experience quoting transportation or project-based work is an asset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license; clean abstract preferred
