<h3>About the job Senior Mechanical Designer</h3><h3><strong>Description</strong></h3><p>Are you a seasoned Mechanical Designer looking for an exciting opportunity to lead cutting-edge projects in HVAC and plumbing design? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team. As a <strong>Senior Mechanical Designer</strong>, you will lead the design of mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projects, coordinate design resources, and help ensure successful project delivery.</p><h3><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></h3><p>Lead the detailed design for projects of varying scope and complexity, delegating tasks to team members as needed.</p><p>Supervise mechanical designers and intermediate-level staff.</p><p>Provide technical guidance to clients and collaborating consultants.</p><p>Mentor and review the work of junior and intermediate mechanical designers and engineers before submission to project leadership.</p><p>Participate in design and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.</p><p>Understand construction practices and conduct site reviews as needed.</p><p>Prepare schematic design and design development reports.</p><p>Analyze client proposals and project specifications to develop efficient and cost-effective design solutions.</p><p>Select mechanical equipment in coordination with suppliers and manufacturer representatives.</p><p>Produce schematic designs, design development, and construction drawings.</p><p>Prepare mechanical specifications (book or drawing format).</p><p>Conduct peer reviews of designs and documentation prepared by others.</p><p>Submit completed and reviewed designs to Project Managers for final review.</p><p>Coordinate designs with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, etc.).</p><p>Estimate project hours and communicate team resource needs to Project Managers.</p><p>Identify and flag scope changes or additional services to Project Managers in a timely manner.</p><p>Maintain project schedules and monitor budgets and resource use with Project Manager support.</p><p>Support contract administration tasks such as shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, and evaluating design changes and associated costs.</p><p>Promote high-quality design and documentation practices through continuous improvement of workflows and standards.</p><h3><strong>Experience & Qualifications:</strong></h3><p>Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 510 years of relevant experience (or a combination of education and experience).</p><p>Comprehensive understanding of building systems (architectural, structural, civil, electrical, fire protection) and their interface with mechanical systems.</p><p>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.</p><p>Strong knowledge of applicable building and plumbing codes and standards.</p><p>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and REVIT.</p><p>Understanding of project financials including backlog, WIP (work in progress), and budget tracking.</p><p>Ability to lead and mentor project teams of 13 people across multiple concurrent projects.</p><h3><strong>Why Join Us:</strong></h3><p>Contribute to innovative and diverse mechanical design projects.</p><p>Collaborate within a supportive team environment that encourages professional development.</p><p>Flexible <strong>Hybrid Work Program</strong>.</p><p>Competitive <strong>benefits package with flex days</strong>.</p><p>Enjoy multiple team events throughout the year.</p><p>Help drive continuous improvement in design processes and project delivery.</p>#J-18808-Ljbffr
